Voltas Vertis Elite S split-type air conditioner Review
I bought this air conditioner 1 month back and so far I am highly satisfied by the performance of this product except on a few scales.
First of all let me tell you that after buying this product at a price of Rs 21,500 it further cost me about Rs 3,500 which includes the price of a stabilizer costing Rs 2,500 and the installation charges of Rs 1,000. There was a further cost of Rs 1,300 in the material required in installation including a costly wire, MCB trip and few more small things.
Vertis Elite 1.0 ton AC is perfect for my 144 x 120 inches room. It has an efficient cooling capacity, excellent humidifiers and is almost noise less. There are four modes of operation for this air conditioner which are the automatic mode, cooling mode fan mode and dehumidifier mode according to the sequence they change with the remote control. Although the remote which came with this product also shows a heating mode and corresponding auxiliary heat button they are don’t have any functionality for this product.
Operation of Voltas Vertis Elite S at different modes
The automatic mode keeps you feeling comfortable- neither hot nor cold, just perfect. I find this mode perfect for my needs as well there is the added advantage that this mode is best suited for saving energy. As the product is given 3 star BEE rating therefore this mode is definitely the one I would suggest.
The second mode that is the cooling mode is I find is too commonly used in most houses. It took me a while to find the right temperature which I find comfortable (I was always feeling the chill in my foot) but for me 25 degree works the best. There is not much to say for this except that this mode is not as energy efficient as the Automatic mode.
The third mode is the dry or dehumidifier mode. This mode is very strong for its functionality. Keep the doors and windows closed and enjoy the low moisture room. Be sure that the room is not open in case of high humidity conditions as this can lead to the condensed air leaking out of the fins and can damage your product. The temperature is automatically set in this case and will also not show up on the screen of air conditioner or the remote. Anyhow, with the low moisture surroundings the evaporation from your body will not let you fell any heat even if the temperature of the room is a bit higher than your preferred choice.
The fourth mode is the fan mode. The fan has three levels on speed and in the mode the outdoor unit does not operate. The indoor fan alone operates. It is best to use this mode with fan speed set at highest.
Sleep modes of Voltas Vertis Elite S
Normal sleep
Under dry and cooling mode the indoor fan runs at low speed. In the 2nd hour of operation of this air conditioner the temperature rises by 1 degree and 3rd hour rises by a further 1 degree. After that the unit will continue to operate at the 2 degree higher temperature.
Sleep mode 1
Under cooling and dry mode the air conditioner and on 23>=st>=16 degree Celsius during the 3 hours of starting sleep mode the set temperature will increase by 1 degree every next hour and after reaching 3 degrees high the unit will continue to operate at that temperature up to 8 hours when the temperature will decrease by 2 degrees. The unit will not continue to operate at this temperature.
If on 24>=st>=27 degrees then during the next 2 hours the temperature will increase 2 degree every next hour and then will continue to operate at the same temperature for next 8 hours when the temperature will again decrease by 2 degrees.
If on 28>=st>=31 degrees then the unit will operate all along at the same temperature.
Sleep mode 2
In this the 8 hour duration reduces to 7 hours and the rest of functionality remains the same.
Sleep mode 3
In this mode there is no automatic reduction of temperature after any time and the rest of functionality remains the same.
Fan speed in Vertis Elite S
There are 3 fan speeds in addition to the automatic fan speed mode. I have the air conditioner installed at about a height of 147 inches from the bed and for immediate relief I have found the highest fan speed to the only one satisfactory enough. Once the room is cooler you can reduce the fan speed but initially you may prefer the highest speed. The automatic speed setting is okay especially during sleep time.
Turbo facility in Vertis Elite S
This is one area where I find this air conditioner lacking a bit. I don’t find any immediate effect on my room the size of which I told above. It is only a bit faster than the normal cooling option. You will notice a change in the sound of the functioning of the unit but the effect is not that noticable.
Other features of Vertis Elite s
There is horizontal and vertical swing available to cool multiple persons in the room. The ionizer is perfect especially if you have electronic equipments like laptop or desktop in the room. This will keep the system cool and you might know this that the cooler your electronics equipments remain the longer they run condition that there is less than normal humidity.
