Hyosung has launched a 250 cc segment bike in Indian market.It's clear that they are already in the 250 cc segment bike competition. This is a super sports bike with immense power and style to attract anyone. Let's check more about this bike.

From the higher cc bike segment, Hyosung just jumped to launch of a 250cc bike in the Indian market. From the bike's specifications the intensions of hyosung was very cleat that they want to conquer the 250cc bike segment. They called this bike as R comet as this bike can go too fast.

Engine & Transmission of Hyosung GT250R


This is the lowest cc bike in Hyosung family. This bike is powered by a 249cc 8 valve DOHC twin cylinder engine. Hyosung's is powered by Electronic Fuel Injection.This bike has a maximum power output of 27.61 bhp at a high 10000 rpm. Maximum torque is 22.07 Nm at 8000 rpm. The transmission should be little more smooth. Hyosung GT250R engine has a clean sound even at high speeds.This bikes vibrate little in the mid-range of 5000-6000 rpm at the footpegs and handlebars.

Transmission of GT250R is a 5-speed, 1 down and then 4 up. There is a problem in this bike which is while changing gears false neutral is occuring. As neutral is placed between 1st and 2nd gear , while shifting from 1st to 2nd , gear is sticking some times in neutral. Transmission needs to be much more better.

Build & design of Hyosung GT250R


This bike looks big as it comes with a 17 liter huge tank. Hyosung GT250R is an exact replica of GT650R with a few changes.The vertically stacked projector headlamps and the sharply pointed tiny tail-lamp, gives this bike a different look. The Red/white combo looks much better than the other black/red option. GT250R has huge tyres, dummy air scoops, big and muscular fairing which together constitute the big bike feel in GT along with a huge 17 liter tank. Fit and finish of this bike was pretty good.

Performance of Hyosung GT250R


Power flow is the best of this bike. Above 3000 rpm, GT has its own tune and it has a top speed of over 150kmph. The bike is liquid cooled and is highly effective.

ELECTRICALS & INSTRUMENTATION - The white colored analogue tachometer of GT250R is calibrated till 13k rpm redlining at 10.5k. The digital part shows the speed in km/h , odometer, tripmeter, clock, and fuel gauge. The buttons at the right side can be used to reset the tripmeter and clock. The console have the indicators, low-fuel warning, upper beam, neutral and FI.

HANDLING & BRAKING - GT250R, is a huge bike, with heavy weight and forward biased posture does promise to be a good rider. The bike sits on a steel frame aided by a rectangular section swingarm. The bike has a thick 41mm upside-down telescopic forks in front and a red colored mono-shockat the rear. This bike have high speed stability. Even above cent speeds it feels very assuring and rock-solid, but at tight corners, it's not too easy to take the turn as your hands may be jammed between handle and the huge tank if not cared. Even if the bike feels heavy on a corner but still remains predictable and never gets on you while cornering. This bike weighs near 190 kgs and need efforts to control when trying to turn the bike. A little mistake may tends the bike to tip over.
GT250R uses tubeless tires and uses 300mm twin semi floating discs at the front and a single 230mm disc at the rear. This bike comes with 6 step adjustable brake to adjust the brake free play.
MILEAGE - It has been found that this bike is giving a mileage somewhere around 29-30kmpl.

Price of Hyosung GT250R


Hyosung GT250R is available at a price tag around 2.75 lac ex-showroom and it costs around 3.25 lac on road.

Advantages & Disadvantages of Hyosung GT250R


Advantages:
1. Adjustable Footpegs: There are 3 adjustments possible.

2. Rear View Mirrors: Wide span and hence can see the complete road.

3. Night Vision: Has twin projectors stacked over one another. Excellent illumination is given by both of the projectors.

4. Side Stand Ignition lock system: This bike comes with side stand ignition interlock system which doesn't allow the bike to start if the side stand is employed.

5. Brake play adjuster: Brake free play can be adjusted using the knob provided.

Disdvantages

1. Side Stand goof-up: To deploy the bike on its side stand, the left front footpeg should be folded.

2. Seat: Loose and slippery seat

3. Exhaust: Exhaust finish was not upto the mark
4. CLIP-ON handlebar: It takes a lot of stretching to grab the handlebar.

5. Fuel tank lid: There is a small gap around the lid so there are chances for water to get inside the tank.

Hyosung GT250R is a immense powerful bike. The bike looks huge and the bike has a linear power delivery. If you want style, power and performance , this is the apt bike for you but you should have enough in your pocket to buy this and for refueling.
