How to enable Google+ SMS service?

It is very simple. Just go to Google+ settings page, navigate to Set delivery preferences and click on Add phone number. In the country option put India, enter your mobile number and click send verification code.

After activating this mobile service you will receive your notifications through SMS and you can update your status by sending a SMS on 9222222222. Google is not charging anything for this service but normal SMS charges will obviously apply.

By default any post through your mobile phone SMS will have public visibility but you can customize this option by adding the following text at the end of your post:

@[circle name] – To make your SMS post visible to selected Circles in Google plus.
@extended – To make your SMS post visible to your extended circles.
@public – To set your SMS post visibility to public including search engines.
@[email address] – To make your SMS post visible to a particular person.

This is another convenience for Indian users of Google plus especially those who don't have internet accessibility on their mobile phones.
