Apple reveals Mac OS X Lion 10.7 with more than 250 new features at WWDC 2011

WWDC 2011 is on its way and Apple is releasing new products side by side. While Apple has release other new products and services like iOS5, iCloud and so on. Apple recently showed their new update to Mac OS X Lion operating system at WWDC 2011 event at San Francisco which was started by 6th June for 5 days.

This Lion update could be big achievement for Mac users at it brings more than 250 features. Sadly, as of now only developer version is build and supposed to hit the market in next month. While we wait for more features of OS X Lion, let's have a look at 10 new features in OS X Lion:

1. Full screen applications: You may have seen full screen running on Windows applications and its very common for it, new MAC OS X Lion update brings full screen applications in its new version. Current OS X version doesn't allows you to use applications running in full screen mode on Mac. At the same time with it's multi-touch functionality you will be able to switch between full screen applications and other functions as well.

2. Multi-touch Gestures in OS X Lion: Multi-touch is already present in current version on OS X builds for Mac but what you are going to see new is that the ability to swipe through pages while browsing pages that comes with several bugs improvement. User who are using iMac on their desktop would also be able use this features with Magic Trackpad and using multi-touch on Macbooks.

3. Versions: Versions will make your work more reliable as it provides you facility to save different versions of the same document. Opening documents on other system won't be problem any more.

4. Airdrop: Airdrop facilitates you to transfer your files from one computer to another using a P2P network. You can use Wi-fi to share files over network. You can use easy drag and drop function to make your transfer faster.

5. Mail: This software gives you some design elements, it will make your email customization easy.

6. Launchpad: Launchpad is yet another multi-touch gestures powered applications in which you can scroll through a list without mouse, it will be very useful for productivity.

7. Resume: Resume service in Mac OS X Lion will be very useful and yet another great features from Apple. This service let's you resume your running applications even you turn off your system or restart it, all of your setting and parameters remains same.

8. Missing control: This new features will allow you to check and analyze of softwares running in background on your system and also you can easily switch between them using multi-touch gestures. Overview shown of this features at WWDC 2011 was very advanced, we are sure that you are going to love it.

9. App Store for Mac: App Store was originally made for mobile phones and other similar devices like iPod touch. As of now you can see web browsers like Chrome are having their own app stores, so coming forward Apple has also created an app store of Mac specifically. You can buy any app using your iTunes account and softwares will be automatically get downloaded to your system. You will also receive all future updates.

10. Auto save work: Auto saving work feature in saves your work automatically, now don't get confused on it with Resume, both are totally different. This service is like Microsoft One note in which your notes are automatically saved as you type and close it. You can switch between different documents and keep editing while your data is being saved.

Size of OS X Lion 10.7 update will be around 4GB and relatively it would be priced around $29.99 (Rs.1,300 approx.). It will be started on App Store starting from this July and some developers has already got early version at WWDC 2011 Live preview.
