What is Google Correlate?

As Google themselves has defined it, Google Correlate is
Google Correlate is an experimental new tool on Google Labs which enables you to find queries with a similar pattern to a target data series. The target can either be a real-world trend that you provide (e.g., a data set of event counts over time) or a query that you enter.

In brief, we can say that Google Correlate will let the users to predict the patterns of search within a given topic and this search pattern of the virtual web world will actually be corresponding to the search trends of the real world. It is true that Google has already released different other search tools including Google Trends and Google Insights for Search. Nevertheless, their limitation is that they only enable the researchers to examine the prevalent contemporary search trends and compare the volume of search trends across different times, places and categories. Their shortcoming is that they fail to provide any correlating result to the actual search patterns of the real world for a given search item.

How to use Google Correlate

Google Correlate definition review If you find it difficult to find out how to use Google Correlate, then our Google Correlate tutorial will help you for sure. Google Correlate can be called a reverse version of Google trends. In their official announcement in the blog, Google took up the search item "flu" to exemplify how Google Correlate works. There Google uploaded the data or information regarding flu activity over a span of some years. They came to the conclusion that people actually look for related terms, such as "flu" and "cold" in this example, which is very much corresponding to the actual search patterns of the real life and also the trends correlates to actual flu rates. If you keep looking for a given term, for instance "ribosome", a biological term, in the example provided by Google, Google Correlate will help you find other terms which lead to, or attract, similar search patterns and activities, which is in this case "mitochondria", yet another word from the lexicon of biology. Google has shown in their example how ribosome and mitochondira actually follow alike patterns.

You are also requested to read out the white paper provided by Google to read about the methodology that was behind the all new Google Correlate, while for a lighter reading you can check out the comic book. To conclude, we think that anything which gives you a bit more extra information about the search patterns is good, handy and useful. Now the only question which time will answer is that whether Google Correlate can be used as a PPC tool effectively or not. However, we can easily foretell that Google Correlate is going to be a useful tool for researchers and the search pattern enthusiastic; if you fall among them, do check it out as soon as you can.
