Microsoft Windows Azure Toolkit for Windows Phone 7 released

Microsoft has finally released their all new tool kit on the purpose of using it in the Windows Phone 7 platform. Their was lots of buzzing around going over the all new Microsoft Windows Azure Toolkit for Windows Phone 7 but finally that has come to an end and the tool kit has been officially released. However, this new launch by Microsoft was not at all astonishing. In fact it was quite obvious because if Microsoft increases to tie its products together, their chances to cross pollinate will also increase at the same rate. This is more true for the relationship between Microsoft Windows Azure and Windows Phone 7.

The Windows Azure toolkit WP7 was actually made available almost a fortnight ago. On 8th March 2011, the all new Microsoft Windows Azure Toolkit for Windows Phone 7 was ready but the official announcement was not made. Finally that official release announcement of the Microsoft Windows Azure Toolkit for Windows Phone 7 came out on 23rd March 2011. Why Microsoft delayed this official announcement of their product release of Microsoft Windows Azure Toolkit for Windows Phone 7 and postponed the same from 8th March 2011 to 23rd March 2011 is not yet known and can not be ascertained.

What is Windows Azure?

Obviously the million dollar question that will definitely arise in this occasion is what is Windows Azure? Well, we can define Microsoft Windows Azure Microsoft's cloud platform. Microsoft in its official website has defined it as "a cloud computing or cloud services operating system" intended for the development service hosting as well as service management environment. In fact the purpose of introducing this new cloud platform of Microsoft seems to challenge and compete with Amazon's popular Web Services platform. Microsoft has been enthusiastically promoting the product like its other cloud based web tools such as the Office Live.

Now the question that will strike everyone is are we going to witness a wave or fag of Azure using WP7 apps? We can pretty well assure that the answer will be negative. Nevertheless, there will definitely be some use instantly and it will keep growing in future. Who knows, Azure might open up a new vista for budding enterprise applications in the coming days, offering a boost to companies? Well, we just need to wait and see.
