Canon Selphy CP780: Ultra Compact Portable Printers

Digital cameras have become a necessity in our life and almost all of us prefer them rather than the older role cameras. The use of digital cameras have resulted in evolution of ultra compact portable printers. It is really great to flip through physical photo albums and with these printers it has been made very easy. Canon Selphy CP780 can be easily used to take 4x6 inch prints of photographs either from PictBridge or different memory slots.

Canon Selphy CP780 is a compact size printer which makes it portable & handy in tours. Selphy has a provision to add an external battery and hence reducing the need of a power source. The model comes in different top colours and a plastic body with the silver top portion. It has a 2.5-inch LCD screen which is surrounded by operational panel buttons. The top portion has a wavy design making it look very attractive. All buttons including that of power,menu,back,print and navigation are rubberised. The printer has two trays including one for postcard size and other for visiting card size.

The ink rollers are inserted from the right side slot. The PictBridge port is given on left hand side and the memory card slots are populated at the left hand corner at front panel. It has support for SD/mini SD/MMC+/Cf/MS/MS Duo cards. The printer uses dye sublimation technique for printing which gives it a compact size. Further a thin laminative protective covering is done over the photo to protect it from discolouration from UV light & air.

The printer is pretty quick while printing 4x6 prints. It takes around 1 minute to print 3 photos. The only worry about the printer is that when it printed border less photos, some portion of photo leaked into perforated side of the photo. The colour are quite vibrant but the microscopic dust is visible after over-coating. The printer is fairly priced at Rs. 5,995 and is a value for money.
