Galaxy Y is a new-generation mobile phone introduced by Samsung. It is quite affordable and is considered as the best affordable Android Smart-phone which is packed with exciting features. I personally own a Galaxy Y and therefore I have a detailed knowledge about this model. It is quite light-weight and its size is also medium which makes it a compact phone. It is a stylish and decent phone. Its name is Galaxy Y and this 'Y' stands for Young which itself depicts that this phone is meant for the Young generation. It comes with awesome features. - Galaxy Y comes with 2 Mega Pixel camera and with the image resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. Sadly, it lacks Auto-focus and an LED flash. It can record a video at QVGA@15 fps. Another camera flaw is that it doesn't have a front camera which automatically restricts video calling. But the camera being 2 MP is still good.
- It has a TFT capacitive Touch-Screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.It has a screen size of 3.0 inches. Screen colors are 256K which makes the display miserable , but still its good for people who doesn't really have knowledge about display colors.
- The GSM platform of Samsnung Galaxy has an operating frequency of GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 while the HSDPA has a frequency of 1900/2100. The data connectivity sources are GPRS, 3G, Wi/Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and A-GPS.
- The battery of this phone is slightly below average. I personally don't like this part of the phone. I am an active user and I have noticed that the battery dies very soon while using 3g. Battery used is standard 1200 MAh.
- The phone has a stereo FM radio with RDS. The ringtones available are vibration, polyphonic and MP3. It has a speaker and the sound quality is good , yet low.
- The marked price of the phone is Rs.7,850 . The Samsung Galaxy Y comes with one year manufacturer’s warranty.
