Queries and doubts regarding GRC |

In last few days, there has been lots of queries and doubts regarding points, membership level and contests of GRC. Members shared different emotions with us like anger, irritation, anxiety, frustration etc. I was patiently going through all posts and was trying to figure out the real issue.
Now I am here to clear all your doubts, though some issues still need to be cleared, for which I seek your patience.
1. Changes in membership level.
Membership level has been changed and was done so that members can attain higher level in quick time, earlier gold level was for 1000 points which has been reduced to 500. Still you mat see some members in silver level with more than 500 points. This is because they havent recalculated their points after this new membership level. Once they will recalculate they will get their actual membership level.
2. Reduction in points of some members.
Only points for tags and member buddies has been reduced, there may be reduction of more points for some members, this may be due to some error while implementing and making tags points to 0, however they get back their points by recalculating, so members who are still facing reduction in points more than what it should be may please recalculate their points. However still there is slight discrepancy in total points reflected and total points reflecting in score board, we are looking into it and will be sorted out soon, as this error is not having any major impact any where, so we may sort it out later giving priority to other more important things first, so we seek member,s patience.
3. Extension of date of Contest Buying guide
We started 2 contests on the day the site was officially launched, at that time we had very few members. Now we are getting members. I am sure no one will like to be a topper if there is only one contestant, or no one will appreciate being second if there are only 2 contestants. The real fun is when you win a real contest. This is the reason the dates of second contest has been increasing. The last extension was because some members who was standing well in the contest fell short due to reduction of points, for them we must give them some time to come up. To boost the members who are already in the fray we have doubled the prize money from 500 to 1000 and also added one second prize worth Rs 500. We would have declared another contest with same award money which we have added but to make the real contest we added more award in same contest. As Sparsha said only 2 members qualified so far because among the members who posted resources on buying guide only 2 members were above 1000 points, there may be few more, but that will be reflected if there score shows above 1000 points once they recalculate their points or contribute more in that section or other sections. However we encourage members to post more in resources and reviews.
4. Regarding number of Webmasters
In every Company there are many heads dealing with different sections, here too we have Ram Ratan and Sparsha dealing with members as well as coming up with new plans, projects. Kumaraditya and Mahesh are coordinators keeping liaison with Webmasters here and of other sites of our network, monitoring policy guidelines and acting as standby webmasters at all sites of our network in absence of primary webmaster or as and when required. Dr. Sanjeev that is me deals the monetary aspects, reward programs, members payouts and all other legal aspects, members queries and suggestions discussing with webmasters and other administrative work behind the scene. Tony deals with technical aspects, removing bugs, adding new features and overall administration. But as it is difficult to make different designation for all, we made a common designation called webmaster for all.
Last but not the least, I am really very happy to see lots of queries and emotions showed by members, this shows that members are really concerned with this site and have some affinity for GRC. Queries and suggestions in separate thread or as a response to any thread are sometimes overlooked, so I have made this forum. I welcome all queries and suggestions here.

This is not correct. Earlier, 500 points is the minimum for Gold. I and few other members had Gold with only 500+ and not 1000+. May be what u talk is just opposite. Isn't it ?

Ok we will wait. But don't forget to correct it as there is no other major priority things like u mentioned. From my profile, I just saw that my total points reflected and total points in score board are different.The total points reflected did not added the points for the product photos. I just figure out the problem in my profile.

Already, After the announcement of this new changes, I recalculated my points and it is above 1200+(Total). From resource section only, it is about 700+. I posted a question in another forum that 'What is the actual criteria? ' 1000 points from all the sections ? or " 1000 points from resource section only ?" or "1000 points from buying guide section only ?" . Please answer these questions. And tell me whether I am eligible for this ?( Note: I have a post in buying guide) Also there are other members who have 1000+ points and have a post in buying guide.

You are correct. We had liked ( note the point "had liked") GRC so much in past. And not now.

Dear Roshin K.P,
Points will be calculated as a whole and not only buying guides. But the member should not get most of his points from forum answers and polls. We want the prize should go to consistently contributing member.
Regarding my message, only 2 are qualifying was wrong.You correctly pointed out you and other qualifying member.It happened because I was out of touch with the site for sometime.
However , it is also true that very few posts are there to call it a real contest.

And today after re calculating my scores, it has changed from silver to gold. Now i limped to gold level in this site. Thanks for making changes in this site and hope other members will also follow the rules and regulations stipulated therein.

Dear Dr. Sanjeev,
Thanks for taking your time to explain and give answers to the doubts and queries.
However, I want to encourage other members to be calm and relax, for the webmaster to have taken his time to explain the doubts we are having, I believe the administrators are working seriously about the situations.
Please, don't be aggrieved but let us all join hands together to make GRC greater.
Remember, a journey of a thousand miles begins in a day.

You cleared my doubts. I will keep continue my work here. And members, webmaster had clearly specified that we have to get 1000 points from resourse and product section. Forum section points are excluded in this contest criteria. Be happy and active. Thank you!

Hello Everyone,
Thanks to Dr. Sanjeev for coming out with a perfect outcome, that's what I was seeking for a smart and needful reply. I suppose that now members have understood about the case.
As of now, am really worried whether I should say anything about this change, because the way members reacted to me, seems that I should stay away with this matter, perhaps it is their PERSONAL MATTER.
But still I don't feel that I have made any mistake. Anyway, once again I would say that this is a very satisfactory and smart response by Dr.Sanjeev.

Thanks Dr.Sanjeev and Sparsha for clearing out the doubts regarding recent issues raised in GRC. I suppose members are having any confusion or complaints any more.
Let me point it again, that points from Resources, Reviews and Products will be counted as a whole to meet 1000 points of eligibility criteria. Roshin please feel relax and be calm, you already have qualified the minimum eligibility criteria.
I assure you all that at the end of the contest you all will be satisfied with the results, just we need more participation and wait for the results.
